My thanks to all of you who have posted trip reports in the past. They have really helped us plan the best vacations in Aruba. Apologies for the delayed report

This was our 11th trip to Aruba since 2005. We stayed at the Aruba Sunset Beach Studios again. JP, Eve and Irene are the best, we’ve already booked for next year. The Aruba Sunset Beach Studios are perfect, we selected the Ocean Front room, great view of the ocean. Met all our friends again from last year, it was great to see everybody.

Activities: We are beach people and snorkelers, so we pack up our gear and cooler and head to beach. Boca Catalina - Spotted 2 turtles, stingray and a large assortment of fish
Baby Beach - Beautiful and very relaxing. We enjoyed the drive going there and stopping in San Nichols to see the painted street art, very creative. Restaurant on site, chairs and umbrellas available for rent.
Arashi Beach visited several times, they rent chairs and umbrellas there, with concession stand and bath rooms.
Snorkeled with” Aruba Bob” in Mango Halter. All I can say was it’s amazing, a must for everyone. It’s not hard to do, the machine is easy to operate and the coral was beautiful. Coco our guide was knowledgeable, super friendly and fun.
Rented the Octopus in front of Holiday Inn, round boat with a 5 HP engine with a canopy for 4 hours ($300), sits 6 -8 people. Went with a few friends and had a blast. You boat down the beach and drop an anchor anywhere you want and snorkel.
Climbed the Hooliberg (or Haystack) the first time. Will do it on all my visits from now on. The view up there gives you a great view of the entire island, and we could also see Venezuela. 550 steps to the top, cement staircase. No facilities, so bring water.
My wife went to Island Yoga a few times and yoga at the Manchebo. She loved it, will be going again next year.

Papillion – service and food great. The Escargot, cerviche, Corvina and grouper were very good
Café 080 – First time for us, simple local place. Grouper fish and chips very good. Good price point
Madame Jeanettes – Service was terrible, meal took over an hour after we ordered our meal. Too crowded and portions smaller. It once was our favorite. Probably will not return.
O’Neals Kitchen - in San Nicholas on way to Baby Beach. We stopped here for lunch by chance and it was great. Wife had the chicken Caesar salad and I had the Jamaican Chicken… excellent. Will stop there again.
Casa Tua – The pizza is Ok, the lasagna was good. Nice atmosphere outside, good service.
Anno 1877 – First time for us. One of our best meals this trip, service excellent, the chef came out and talked to us. Grouper and tuna was perfect. Will return again.
Terarza – Great view of the sunset, the daily specials are great. We had the Chicken Parm and lasagna. Wine is like $6/glass!! Very good service.
Bistro de Suikertuin – First time. This place is a gem. Really beautiful on the inside, including the courtyard. Food was excellent. The avocado shrimp app was to die for, we both had the barracuda. Will come back next year.
Local Store – Fun local place. Great burgers and cold beer. Great service. Even went on Sunday for breakfast, the breakfast burrito can feed two people… highly recommend a visit there
Que Pasa – One of our favorites. The escargot app, tuna and Corvina was cooked perfect. Great service. Love their menu. They run specials all the time
Kamini’s Kitchen – Fun atmosphere and the food is really good, but different. First time I’ve had goat! Ms. Kamini recommended the curry goat, it was very good.
Italy in the World – We didn’t go last year, he added tables inside where the food store was. Food and service is very good, Owner is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.
Quinta del Carmen – Beautiful atmosphere, every year they seem to expand and add tables. The food was excellent, we had the tuna and the grouper special.
Linda’s Pancakes – a must each trip for us, the food and service are excellent. Every year after we leave we say we should share a pancake since they are so large, but somehow we always order our own.
Bingo’s – we visit Bingo’s several times during our stay. Their food is always good, the shrimp escargot, goat cheese salad, the Bingo’s burger is delicious, and the grouper is very good. The service is some of the best on the island.
