Finally returned to our timeshare at La Cabana after 8 years. We have been experiencing other adventures with our daughter as it was difficult to take her out of school once she started middle school.

I have to first start off by saying how sad I was to see all the building going on in Aruba. I have been going to Aruba for over 30 years and I so much enjoyed it when it was quieter and not as crowded. I can't believe how big the new Embassy Suites is going to be and all the new condos built and being built. I'm concerned about where all these people are going to go. Eagle Beach has always been so beautiful and peaceful because of no crowds.

That being said we did have a fabulous vacation. When we arrived as my husband and daughter were getting bags I headed to Duty Free to purchase Rum and Vodka for our trip. After checking in at our timeshare LaCabana we went to Super Foods to stock up on some things. It was a mad house. Parking was crazy. I think it was because it was the day before Labor Day. We went one other time at night and it wasn't bad at all. Also driving was crazy with all the roundabouts and construction going on.

Our days were filled with beach in the morning then heading up to the pool for bingo in the afternoon. Not a winner this trip. Couldn't wait to have my Brown Lady's at Happy Hour. At night we hit the Casino's and my daughter couldn't believe you get free drinks. She had so much fun. She was shooting craps with her dad (the pit boss and workers around the table all new her name every night which she got a kick out of) and she played roulette with me. Both winners, not big but we won. My husband was down most of the time at craps but won it all back by the end of our trip. Always nice to come home with money.

One day we drove around the island to reintroduce our daughter to some of the sites as she was a little girl the last time we were here. Went to the Lighthouse, Alto Vista Church, Natural Bridge area and Baby Beach. Baby Beach has even gotten crowded. There's a restaurant there called Big Mama's with a Flintstone theme and you can now rent portable cabana's and lounges (I thinks it was $60 to rent). There's also a bar with an infinity pool called Rum Runners that seemed nice. Wasn't there last time we visited. Also went shopping one day downtown and at the flea markets.

We all said can't wait to go back next year (although not looking to forward to all the crowds after all the building).
