We went from JAN 11-25 weeks 2 and 3 at our ts at Divi Links. Flew AA from Bradley through Miami. All our flights were good and landed pretty much on time. Bought some duty free in Miami and carried it on. When we arrived in Aruba we got off the plane on the tarmac got into a bus and were shuttled to the terminal and up 2 escalators to a fairly long line through immigration. It took about 30 minutes got our luggage and out to the taxi line where there were only two groups ahead of us. Taxi fare is now$26 to the low rise area, Got into our room by 5 so less than 90 minutes since landing. Last year it took a lot longer. Unpacked off to Mulligans and back to watch some football and bed since we got up at 4. Next morning off to Lings which has changed a lot in a year. Completely different setup but much neater than last year. Dumped the food off to the beach and vacation begins. Beaches. The beach at the Division is about half as wide as it used to be. The Tam beach is still a mess with the water all the way up to the Bunker bar. Fun fact the Bunker bar gets its name because it is actually built on top of a bunker that guarded the harbor during WW 2. CDM has gotten most of its beach back as did ABC. Beach at Manchebo and Northwere fine. The first few days the waves were big and got bigger as the week went on including a few red flag days. It was hard to get in and out because there was a drop when you entered with a lot of coral. Really needed water shoes. By the end of our stay the waves were much smaller and the water was really clear. The wind was really strong at the start but then it went almost calm for a few days. Cars were covered with condensation in the mornings and very humid. People should never complain about the wind because without it it can be really humid. First time I ever played golf and did not really account for the wind when choosing a club. Getting a palapa in the morning was easier than usual. If you got there by 7:30 you could still get a good one. I wake up early and do not mind going to the beach early. Love grabbing a coffee at the Tam and watching the cruise ships come in.
Did not find the island as busy as usual. Got into most restaurants without reservations. Walking around on Palm Beach area at night was not as busy either . Actually made money at the casinos winning about $450 on the slots. That has not happened in a long time
Restaurant reviews were previously posted.
We left on the holiday and headed to the airport a little earlier than usual . There was an accident on the new road which pretty much closed it down so our cab driver went through town. Took us about 90 minutes to get through to the waiting room which meant we had a lot of time to waste. Our plane landed early but could not get to the gate because there was a plane there. At one point there were 3 planes waiting for gates. Left a little late but landed on time. Now we wait for next year.
