A new fire broke out in the area of the town of Paradise in northern California this morning. Karen's cousin lives there, this is where Karen visited a couple of weeks ago. The town of 27,000 people has been totally destroyed including her cousin Pat's home. She along with many others were trapped in a traffic jam trying to evacuate and had to abandon their vehicles. Earlier this evening they were all trapped in a shopping center parking lot. The latest we have heard all the evacuees were now on their way again. As of right now all we know is she and her 2 dogs are away from the danger area and safe heading south to a friends house. She was unable to find her cat who is feared lost.

Please keep them in your prayers. Thanks

Richard

Saturday update:

Evacuated again. Pat has been staying with a friend in Oroville several miles south of where her house was, now that area is being evacuated and they are moving again. They are on the way further south to relatives of the friend. A nephew of Pat's is setting up a GoFund me page to help them get some necessities. We were about to send some help but since they are moving again so we can't till we know more details.

I just read this story in the news and my heart hurts for all those people..an entire town is unreal and so traumatic. I am so sorry for Karen's cousin losing her home. I hope her cat is found through a pet lost and found in this tragedy. I can't even imagine what an entire town of displaced people will do after losing everything. worse fire I've heard of in recent times. My sympathy to both of you and everyone else involved.
