To help those who are planning for any upcoming trips:

Altamar (the Italian/seafood restaurant across from the Playa Linda) is closed; it looks like a new pizza restaurant (Pizza Napoli?) will be going into that space instead.

Juan Valdez Cafe (in the Alhambra plaza, across from Baskin-Robbins) is "closed for renovation", which is _usually_ code for "out of business" (but who knows, it might return in the future...)

Thanks for posting, too bad about Altamar. I really liked it.

The owner of Altamar went back to Venezuela to be with his family. It was too much travelling back/forth and they didn't get as much business as they should have. The food was very good there.

One could see how this was a problem seeing there are no direct flights from Venezuela to Aruba ! or visa versa

For you "I don't care and I don't go to Aruba to eat pizza",

What food do you go to Aruba to eat?

Thanks for the info. Leaving tomorrow, I was hoping to go to Altamar, went a few years ago and loved it, too bad about it closing.

Altamar was an excellent restaurant that we enjoyed many times. Sorry to see it go.

Guess we have the answer why they had to close. Folks it's mikey's fault.
